Ellen Horne presents The Ritual of Sonic Offering
In dialogue with Disquiet in the Sand by Lily Cox-Richard, The Ritual of Sonic Offering invites visitors to listen, reflect, and contribute sound to a growing collective composition. This participatory sonic work begins with a soundscape that references the materials (sand, glass) and references (White Sands, New Mexico, lunar cycles) and resonances (magic, religion) of Cox-Richard’s exhibition and expands as visitors record their own sonic offerings at a small recording station within the gallery. Each voice, breath, or gesture becomes part of an evolving acoustic archive: a document of presence, listening, and response created during the Resonate convening.
