FAQs
What is RESONATE about?
For those who produce podcasts, the goal of RESONATE is to help improve your craft in record time. For those who listen to podcasts or just love art, RESONATE is here to educate and entertain you.
I'm new to podcasting, is this for me?
RESONATE is for anyone who wants to learn more about podcasting. But if you're a college student, check out Student Podcast Day on Thursday, Oct. 24. Students from Virginia and beyond will convene at the ICA for a half day of presentations and career development.
What does my ticket include?
Two days of workshop sessions and our Pitch Party. Two live performances. Complimentary access to Common House Richmond. Some light snacks. Tune-Up Mentoring Sessions with audio professionals from Radio Club Collective.
Sign up for the Tune-Up Mentoring Sessions here.
What's your refund policy?
All ticket sales for RESONATE are final.
Will live events be recorded?
Performances may be broadcast onto a mobile monitor in the ICA’s Forum, but they will not be recorded for later viewing. The RESONATE team is working hard to ensure the festival provides the best in-person experience possible.
Where should I park?
Due to construction, the parking scene around the ICA is tricky this year. It's probably best for you to take our amazing FREE city bus system, walk over from your hotel, or call an Uber or Lyft. There is a limited, metered parking lot by the ICA (QQ and EE Lot), as well as public parking in the general area.
What exhibitions are on display at the ICA?
Dear Mazie,, Loie Hollowell: Space Between, A Survey of Ten Years, and Caitlin Cherry: Eigengrau.
Check out our Visit page for more information about gallery policies.
What are your accessibility policies?
The ICA is accessible to those using wheelchairs or other mobility devices. All galleries and the auditorium are accessible by elevator, and there are designated handicapped parking spots in the lot. Our lower level has a restroom with baby-changing facilities, and a mother’s room and quiet room are available upon request. If you need additional help to participate, just contact us at ica@vcu.edu.
Where should I eat?
If you’re looking for dining options aside from our cafe, Richmond has you covered. RVA Restaurant Week will be taking place during RESONATE, and many local restaurants will be offering specials.
For sit-down dining near the ICA, check out iPanema, Edo’s Squid, And Dim Sum, or Birdie’s.
For casual, quick bites, Panera, Chipotle, and Cava are just a few steps away.
How do you sign up for sessions?
Sessions this year are first come, first serve. Please check the schedule for a list of CMC sessions.
Will there be overflow?
We are excited to welcome a record number of RESONATE attendees this year. To ensure everyone has a great experience we have increased overflow options and introduced sessions. With a sold-out crowd, we encourage guests to get their seats early for any given session.
My question wasn’t answered here. How can I reach you?
Prior to the event, please email us at icacmc@vcu.edu. If you have any questions while on site during the event, please go to the ICA’s front desk for information.
